An integral part of Fleadh na Mumhan each year is Scoil Fonn agus Amhráin workshops providing tuition in slow-air playing and traditional singing to scholarship winners from the six counties of Munster. The Slide and Polka Workshops is also a hugely popular part of the Fleadh programme. This workshop is open to any interested participants. Application form available on the workshops page. This year's workshop will be tutored by well-known Cork musicians Connie O'Connell
For many the most important part of a Fleadh weekend are the Fleadh competitions as competitors from the six counties of Munster will gather in Cork City seeking a coveted Munster title and a place in the All-Ireland 2017 in Ennis

An exciting programme of of concerts will take place during the Fleadh week in CSM:
Tuesday, July 18th: Glór Chorcaí Concert with Matt Cranitch, Jimmy Crowley, Mairtín de Cogáin & Jackie Daly
Thursday, July 20th: Masters of Munster Concert featuring Sean O Sé, Bryan O Leary, Jack Talty Richard Lucey, Karl Nesbitt, Buile and more
The reigning All-Ireland Champions 'Shandrum Céilí Band' will provide the music for our Fleadh Céilí on Saturday, July 22nd. An open air céilí will take place on Sunday, July 23rd with music from Ger Murphy & Ken Cotter. There will also be top-class dancing to be seen at the Munster senior and junior set-dancing competitions in the Everyman Theatre.
- Street Entertainment Competition
Groups of between 3-6 musicians, dancers etc are invited to enter our Street Seisiún
Competition which take place from 6-8pm on Friday, July 21st on Oliver Plunkett Street. Every group will be asked to play for 20-30 mins at an assigned location. There is two age-groups: 9-13 and Over 13 and we have a prize fund of €900 for the winning groups plus a chance for your group to play on the Fleadh Gig-Rig. Advance Entry required
to be heard at the Fleadh. The Singing Club in The Spailpín Fánach, South Main St is the place to be over the Fleadh weekend. Our Bean an Tí will be the well known Cork singer Máire Ní Chéilleacháir from the Muskerry Gaeltacht
Trad Sessions will be found in pubs throughout Cork City during the Fleadh weekend.
Bring your instrument along and join in the craic or just come along and listen.
The Fleadh open air Gig Rig stage located on the Grand Parade will bring a feast of open-air traditional music and dance to Cork City during the Fleadh with the entertainment line-up including the reigning All-Ireland Céilí Band Champions - The Shandrum Céilí Band from North Cork.
- An Ghaeilge
Cuirtear béim faoi leith ar an Ghaeilge agus tábhacht an teanga i gcultúir na ndaoine. The Fleadh’s sub-committee for An Ghaeilge has brought our native language into many of the week’s events and has provided plenty of opportunities for walking, talking, singing and even praying as gaeilge during the Fleadh!
Wednesday, July 19th will be Storytelling Day at Fleadh na Mumhan as we host a free Storytelling Workshop in Cork City Library followed by a Storytelling Evening that night in the Spailpín Fánach. The workshop will be led by well-known Cork storyteller Dick Beamish and is not to be missed. Advance Booking is advisable
Fleadh Cheoil na Mumhan 2017 will be held in Cork City from July 18th-23rd 2017. The Munster Fleadh Cheoil festival has something to offer for everybody who enjoys Irish traditional music, song, dance and culture.
